Famous Guitarists and Their Guitars

Ever wonder why some of the great guitarists sound so good? While most of their sound can be attributed to their amazing skill, some of it is in the guitar they play.  This is a list of some of my favorite guitarists or bands, and the guitars they play.

Kirk Hammet of Metallica (my all time favorite):
He plays almost exclusively ESP guitars.  He has a signature line of ESPs called the KH- series.  He also has been known to play Fender Strats and Ibanez.

James Hetfield of Metallica:
James plays almost exclusively ESP guitars and has his own signature series called the JH- series.  His first, and most used, guitar is an ESP explorer, and my favorite guitar of his is an ESP Explorer with chrome diamond plate.

Dave Mustaine of Megadeth:
Dave plays exclusively Jackson guitars, and his most common style is the Jackson V.

George Lynch of Dokken and Lynch Mob:
George has the most incredible scream to his guitars, and he plays exclusively ESP guitars.  His signature series is the GL- series.

Joe Satriani (the greatest):
Joe plays exclusively Ibanez guitars, and he alone has made their name a staple in the guitar community.  A huge portion of the Ibanez guitars carry his signature line, JS- series.

Steve Vai:
Steve plays exclusively Ibanez guitars, and his trademark guitars are all seven string with a signature handle cut into the top of the body.

Angus Young of AC/DC:
Angus plays Gibson guitars, and almost exclusively plays a Gibson SG in red and black

Slash of Guns n Roses, Slash's Snakepit and Velvet Revolver:
Slash plays the classic Gibson Les Paul, and makes it sound better than just about anybody else can.

Scorpions:
The Scorpions guitarists prefer Gibson guitars and feature the powerful sound of the Gibson Explorer.

Queensryche:
Queensryche plays ESP guitars.
